What Art Journaling Means to Me
Art journaling has become such a meaningful part of my creative life. It gives me a place to explore ideas, emotions, memories, and even the messy in-between moments in a way that feels honest and freeing.
While I absolutely adore sitting at my craft table surrounded by the lovely mess my paints make, I also love bringing that same layered, mixed media spirit into the digital art journaling collections I create. For me, both are part of the same creative conversation. Unlike projects with rules or expectations, an art journal invites curiosity, play, and personal expression. It’s not about getting it “right.” It’s about showing up, layering pieces of your story, and letting creativity help you discover what’s on your heart. If art journaling is new to you, I’ve shared a beginner-friendly introduction in Art Journaling 101, Part One, and a more personal look at why it matters to me in What Is the Purpose of Art Journal Pages?.
On this page, I’m sharing a few of my art journaling collections and a little bit about the heart behind each one. To keep up with my new digital art journaling releases and articles, you can subscribe to my email list here.
Becoming Me
Becoming Me was inspired by the quiet, powerful journey of coming home to yourself. It speaks to the process of shedding expectations, claiming your voice, and allowing yourself to grow into who you were meant to be all along. With its soft mixed media layers, feminine details, and thoughtful word art, this collection reflects the beauty of becoming not as a sudden transformation, but as a gradual unfolding. For me, it is about strength and softness living side by side, and the freedom that comes with finally saying, this is me.
Still Changing
Still Changing, a follow-up to an earlier kit, was inspired by the ongoing evolution so many of us experience as women. We are shaped by where we’ve been, but we are never limited to it. We keep learning, shifting, dreaming, and becoming, often in ways that surprise us. With its bold color, layered texture, and expressive imagery, this collection speaks to the strength, resilience, and possibility that can live right alongside change. To me, it is a reminder that becoming is not something we finish. It is something we keep living.
Unfinished Woman
Unfinished Woman was inspired by the idea that none of us are ever truly finished — and maybe that’s not a flaw at all. We are always growing, changing, learning, healing, and becoming. This collection speaks to the beauty of being a work in progress, of embracing both our strength and our softness, our history and our hope for what comes next. For me, that is part of what art journaling does so well. It gives us a place to honor who we are right now, while leaving room for all that is still unfolding.
The Journey Kit
The Journey was one of my very first art journaling collections, created during that wonderful season when I began to realize I had far more creativity in me than I had ever given myself credit for. This kit is full of bright color, layered texture, and the spirit of personal discovery. It reflects both the literal idea of a journey and the deeper inner journey that so often shows up in art journaling. Even now, it reminds me of what it felt like to begin saying yes to my creative side.
Art for the Soul Kit
Art for the Soul reflects another early chapter in my creative journey, when I was beginning to understand just how meaningful art could be. This kit feels very much rooted in the idea that creativity can nourish us, comfort us, and help us express the things that are sometimes hard to put into words. With its mixed media style and expressive feel, it speaks to the heart of why I love art journaling so much — not because it has to be perfect, but because it gives us space to explore what matters. Looking back, this collection reminds me that art really can be good for the soul.
Age Is Just a Number
Age Is Just a Number grew out of something I’ve come to believe more and more as the years go by: creativity does not have an expiration date. This collection celebrates the idea that growing older does not mean growing less vibrant, curious, expressive, or full of possibility. With its playful mixed media feel, it speaks to the freedom of embracing who we are right now, while still allowing space for growth, reflection, and reinvention. For me, this kit is a reminder that our stories are still unfolding, and that every season of life has something worth honoring.
Express Yourself: Growth
Express Yourself Growth was inspired by the idea that growth is part of everyday life. It happens as we learn, reach, nurture, and create our way forward, often one small step at a time. With its uplifting colors, mixed media layers, and thoughtful word art, this collection reflects the kind of personal growth that art journaling captures so beautifully — not as a finished destination, but as an ongoing process of becoming. To me, it speaks to curiosity, self-expression, and the quiet courage it takes to keep growing into ourselves.
Express Yourself: Hope
Express Yourself: Hope was inspired by the quiet strength of hope — the kind that helps us keep going, keep dreaming, and keep believing that brighter days are possible. With its soft mixed media layers, meaningful word art, and gentle sense of encouragement, this collection reflects the way art journaling can hold both tenderness and resilience at the same time. To me, it speaks to the power of hope not as something loud or flashy, but as something steady, comforting, and deeply life-giving.
Express Yourself: Change
Express Yourself: Change reflects the bold, uncomfortable, and often beautiful reality of transformation. Change rarely arrives neatly. It can feel messy, emotional, surprising, and full of uncertainty, yet it is also where so much growth begins. With its vivid color, expressive layers, and artful sense of motion, this collection captures the energy of shifting, stretching, and becoming something new. To me, it speaks to the way art journaling gives us a place to work through change honestly, one layer at a time.
Junque Journal 01
Junque Journal 01 was inspired by my love of layers, collected bits, vintage fragments, and the beautifully imperfect look that makes junk journal style so full of character. This collection brings together the feeling of found treasures and meaningful scraps — the kinds of pieces that seem to carry little stories of their own. For me, that’s part of what makes both art journaling and junk journal-inspired design so special. They invite us to combine the old and the new, the pretty and the worn, and turn them into something personal, expressive, and full of heart.
Junque Journal 02
Junque Journal 02 leans into the more playful side of art journaling, with a mix of quirky details, eclectic imagery, and unexpected combinations that make the whole collection feel lively and full of personality. This is the kind of junk journal-inspired design I love because it gives you permission to loosen up, follow your curiosity, and let the page become a little wonderfully unpredictable. For me, collections like this celebrate the joy of mixing things up, layering in the unusual, and creating pages that feel expressive, artsy, and completely your own.
Junque Journal 03
Junque Journal 03 has a more artsy, eclectic feel, blending vintage-inspired bits and pieces with expressive imagery in a way that feels both collected and imaginative. I love the sense of mystery in this one — as if each layer holds a fragment of a story waiting to be discovered. That’s part of what draws me to junk journal-inspired art journaling in the first place. It gives us room to gather the unexpected, play with contrast, and create something beautifully original from pieces that might never seem to belong together until they do.
