Sometime, doing something different – something out of your comfort zone – is just what you need to get your mojo going. My head has been filled with all sorts of emotions lately. This big business decision I needed to … Continue reading
Thank you all so much for your supportive blog comments, emails and FB messages after last week’s post about my struggles trying to make an important decision. It means so much to me that you took the time to write and to share your own journeys! Continue reading
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been struggling to make a decision about my design business – a big decision. An opportunity has come to me out of the blue and I have to admit that I literally burst into … Continue reading
Thanks so much to all of you who stopped by for the Artsy Blog Hop last week! I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me! Also, thanks again to Amber for asking me to participate in this blog … Continue reading
My friend, fellow digi designer and art journaler, Amber, asked me to be a part of a group of “artsy” type (I always giggle when that word is used to describe me) bloggers who are answering questions about themselves. So, here we go. Continue reading
What do I mean by “Art for the Soul”? Grab a drink and get comfy. This is gonna take a few minutes. Continue reading
In last week’s post about printing onto deli paper, I mentioned that my mojo for The Documented Life Project had dried up. I started out gang-busters through Week 6 and then found it harder and harder to complete a page in my journal. This year-long challenge had become … well a challenge. Continue reading
It’s been awhile since I shared my Documented Life Project journal pages. Now, I know you’re not sitting on the edges of your seats, eagerly awaiting my next post about the DLP, but I did want you to tell you that I’ve been in a DLP drought – dryer than the brown hills around my home here in water-starved California. Continue reading
Note: This post has been edited to include current shop information. It certainly is! In fact, it’s all about time, isn’t it? Tick, tock. Tick tock. In a March blog post, I wrote how proud and excited I was to … Continue reading
If you don’t look forward, you’re bound to run into something unexpected. You might run into it anyway, but if your eyes are open you’ll manage. You can look back – certainly you can learn from the past – but … Continue reading
Did you see Cilenia’s Week 15 Letting Go page? It’s really thought-provoking and has a quote that really caught my attention. It says “Letting to is hard, but holding on is harder.” That’s true, isn’t it? I’ve always believed that … Continue reading
We’ve just returned from our second trip in three weeks. This time we were in Texas for my folks 60th wedding anniversary. My sister and her family (who came from Minnesota), my brother and his wife, and some friends who’d been in my parents’ lives for almost 40 years were all there to join in the celebration. Continue reading
Sometimes you feel like a nut … sometimes you don’t! Continue reading
My husband and I just returned from 10 days on the East coast. It was an opportunity to visit our daughter in New York City and to reconnect with family in Maryland – some of whom I’d not seen since I was a child. It was a great trip down memory lane and it reminded me of the importance of face-to-face contact with loved ones – even though, in this age of Facebook, it’s possible to stay in touch across many miles. Continue reading
Did you ever get an idea in your head for a project? And get really excited about it? So excited you can’t wait to start? And then you start … and … stare blankly at the page (or screen)? Sigh. Continue reading
Have you noticed recently – on Facebook or Pinterest – the beautiful “painted” and “sketched” images people are posting? I’ve always wondered how those stunning images are done, so I convinced my good friend, Cilenia Curtis, to share her techniques with me. Holy cow! Take a look at these images from my trip to Greece and Italy about five years ago. Continue reading
As part of my “fearless” art journaling adventure this year, I had the lofty goal of recording each of the weekly challenges for the Documented Life Project. And while I sill would like to do that, it turns out that’s … Continue reading
The past few days here in the California Foothills have been gorgeous! Uncharacteristically warm for this time of year – into the 70’s! I actually golfed twice in three days for the first time in a long time! Big rain … Continue reading
Is it almost Spring in your corner of the world? It’s not here either, but the weather in Monterey, CA this past weekend – as you can see – was warm enough to fool us! Continue reading
