January 2021 Challenge

Out with the Old and In with the New

The new part is that my 2021 challenges this year will include a single prompt to spark your creative mojo. Feel free to interpret the prompt in any manner that suits you.  Click the freebie image below to get the it from my Oscraps shop.

My Page — Embrace the Journey

For me, this month’s prompt is all about entering the new year with hopes of renewing connections that have been absent for more than a little while. “Connections” is my word for 2021 and I’m looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

Although the 2020 Covid 19 pandemic disconnected us from so many things, for it me it also reinforced some connections. First and foremost, my connection with my family and friends became priority number one. Then my connection to art reminded me what a soothing relief it can be.

2020, for all of the mental anguish it caused, forced me to focus on what is really meaningful and important in life. I discovered a lot about myself last year, so I know there is more to learn.

My page uses a combination of products: Journal Starter 13 and Artful Add-on 06 (released as a 30% off bundle for the first four days of January), along with some elements from — appropriately enough — Unfinished Woman.

This challenge runs through the last day of the month. The winner will be announced on my website and notified via PM in the Oscraps forum — usually the first week of the following month.

Entries may be featured on my website or in my newsletter or other social media.

    Here’s mine at last! I hope the Oscraps upload worked ok – plus I’m assuming that to post it in here we just need to copy and paste the link so fingers crossed! I loved the dancer in the Unfinished Women kit so she became my focus point / inspiration for my layout. When life gets difficult, it does often take me some time to go with the flow but I am learning to be more open, that change is not always bad, and to embrace the journey! Thanks for this awesome challenge Vicki xox.

    Here’s my layout for this month’s challenge. Our words for 2021 are very similar; mine is Connect. I think I chose Connect because we had to make conscious decisions in 2020 to stay Connected to our family & friends. I am hoping to Connect in person with our kids & grandkids in the coming year. A year apart physically is hard but we have connected via virtual visits, phone calls & photos shared. I’m looking forward to connecting with HUGS again this year!
