Did you see Cilenia’s Week 15 Letting Go page? It’s really thought-provoking and has a quote that really caught my attention. It says “Letting to is hard, but holding on is harder.” That’s true, isn’t it? I’ve always believed that you don’t change until the pain caused by not changing is greater than the fear that the anticipation of change causes for you. That’s a mouthful, isn’t it? Read it again. Do you agree? Do you find you put off changing something because figuring out how to change is just to overwhelming? Get so bogged down that you just stand still? Me too.
For Week 16, Cilenia challenged me to:
- Use ephemera
- Use stars
- Use the word “truth”
So, thinking about Cilenia’s page and her challenge to me, I realized a couple of the things. The truth is that, even if you work really hard and really, really want a different outcome, sometimes things don’t go as planned. The truth is sometimes no matter how well you plan, no matter what you do – how much effort you put into something, it just doesn’t work out. The truth is you can’t avoid facing the facts. Sooner or later the truth – as hard as it may be to face – will jump up and bite you in the … tushy. Acknowledging the truth doesn’t make you a failure. It just makes you a realist. And once you’ve accepted the truth, you can make better decisions on how to move on.
I have had family here the past week and missed this one…Absolutely love it AGAIN! You are so good!
And you, my friend, are very sweet!
very cool!!!
I agree with everything you said about the truth. I’ve always told my self that the truth is the truth and I don’t have to like it, but I do have to accept it!!
Exactly, Robin! There’s no way to escape the truth!
