Artful Mojo Rising – Stamped Silhouette

Creative mojo is a fickle thing. It comes and goes. You never know when it’s going to visit and when it goes it can be gone in a flash. Very rude of mojo to behave that way. At the very least it could give you some warning it’s leaving town, so you don’t get all dressed up and have nowhere to go.

I’m happy and more than a little surprised, however, to report that the last few weeks, I’ve had more creative mojo than I have waking hours. I’m not complaining, mind you. But geesh! Trying to reign mojo in …. well I’ve decided to just go with the flow.

I’m taking an online Abstract Floral class  – because if it’s “abstract” no one can point out much the end result does not look like the real thing. What a freeing thing that is – creatively at least. If I make a “mistake” it’s all good – I meant for that blob to be there. And “that”? Oh that’s my “interpretation” of a leaf. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! ?

On the digital art mojo side of the things, I’ve re-released “It’s About Time,” which was part of the March 2014 Digi Files – can it possibly be two years already? I really love the colors of this kit – I find them very soothing – and looking through it again I was inspired to make a page about my Mother, who passed away last November. “It’s About Time” is on a special sale for for a short time in my Scrapbookgraphics shop.

And, as if that wasn’t enough mojo, I’ve done a short tutorial for you on how to create that “stamped” silhouette on used on my Mom’s page! Whew!

  1. You are so pretty! You are a gorgeous bride!
You are doing a great job with these videos and all the tuts you write! I look forward to them!
Do you think that if you applied the Black & White Adjustment Layer, then, moving the sliders, you could get a good contrast? I may try that. I love this effect!

    • Oh you are SO sweet, Su! Thanks so very much for the kind words! Yes, I’m sure the B&W adjustment layer would work too!!
